<title>Property Register - Helping the police tackle robbery, burglaries and other theft</title>
		<date>29th April 2007</date>
<message>As you may know, one crime which has risen sharply in the last few years is personal robbery. Mobile phones account for nearly half of all robberies. As part of its work to drive down robbery in London, the Safer Street Partnership Board was urged to promote the use of immobilise.com This website links to a property database that has been developed and which the police, nationally, now access 24/7 to check whether items recovered or searched on persons have been stolen or lost. This prinicipally helps with the swift return of property but also in the apprehending of suspects. You can use this database to register a host of property items, not just phones. The site provide details of security and privacy issues if this worries you.</message>
